Mondo Beyond 2008 Part Two...and beyondo...

Comments

Hi M, This is freaky! I've been mulling over list ideas and thinking about what I want/would like to do and have been dreaming about bucket lists and beyondo lists and what do I REALLY want to do, have, see experience and live. Anyway, last night I was thinking about REDWOOD trees. Ever since I saw my first one in a picture as a little girl and was was awed and mesmerized, I have wanted to touch one and gaze up into its branches. I hardly think of them at all but last night I remembered and though, THAT is going to go on my list and here I am this morning and I am welcomed by a beautiful Redwood.
Oh, Shelagh, I love it! I feel so, so blessed to come from the land of the redwoods. I had no idea how incredible and magical they are...until I left home. My very favorite place here in Davis is a tiny redwood grove in the UC Davis Arboretum...I love to lie back on one of the picnic tables and just look...UP. :)

Oh Marilyn,

Thank you ,thank you, thank you!!!

Your poem struck such a chord in me, pierced my soul with a ray of truth and said..."Ahhh, so you are planting a REDWOOD!"

And yes I am... and I do not care if they laugh or mock or roll their eyes... this is going to be our year... agreed??

Okay, you need to know how beautifully you write, because there are so many times I read a post of yours more than once and just marvel.

Plus I truly love that your poetry has no boundaries, is not in a box and is not afraid to take chances.

You are so very multi-faceted, and I find you totally fascinating :)

And it always surprises and me that we artists have such similar vision... I had longed to do a one woman show for a long time, and realised that at this stage, i couldn't get through it without bawling like a baby.

So that dream is still to be nurtured.

I too want a 'Rebel', and to be self-employed (6 figure self employed!!!)

and have actually done a lot of legwork working towards the coffeehouse gallery performance thingy.

So with all that said.. it will be so easy to remember your Redwoods and to help nurture them with my positive thoughts, my love and my undying emotional support.

God I love you Marilyn!!! Rock On

Wow, I totally can't wait to hear about your mondo experiences this year. I just know they'll be full of richness and fun. You are amazing.

I implore you to take a leap and CHARGE that camera on your credit card.
The redwoods poem is just wonderful...and so true, all these amazing ideas that keep popping in my head...some of them I want to hold close and nurture, and some I want to shout to the world! You describe it so well. Your Mondo Beyondo list is awesome. I would come to ANY retreat you created - and I know you can write that one woman show. Maybe you could look ahead at your breaks and plan to do a tiny writing retreat and knock it out. Just an idea. :)
I was just thinking I would start saving for a "real" awesome camera myself this year.

I am attending your retreat!!!

and please know that you and L-L, and (Jill on the community theme) wil be my main speakers when I have my own retreat, too.

xxooxx, love you!!!!

Oh my! That poem was delicious. It felt like pure magic.

And what a great list!

Wow, I love your poetry Marilyn - just the kind I like. It really speaks to me too, planting seeds and tending them, keeping some in a secret garden (made my heart skip a beat reading that, secret gardens...) and planting some that will grow and grow beyond us like redwoods! Brilliant! :) As for your list, you're amazing - go for it girl! I can't wait to see what you'll be doing this year. xoxo
inspiring list, motivates me to get mine going.
